In a bid to negate the adverse campaign against Orissa in the post-Kandhamal riot, the state government has offered a special package for the Christian tourists under spiritual or religious tourism.

The offer was made by the state Tourism and Culture minister Debi Prasad Mishra while interacting with the Bishops of north-India here.

“We want to tell the Christian spiritual leaders that Orissa is full of religious heritages belonging to their religion. The Christian heritage sites will attract many from the community to the state,” Mishra said adding that the state government had already included Christian heritage sites in the tourism map.

“If we were to look over the whole world to find out the country most richly endowed with all the wealth, power and beauty which nature can bestow- in some parts a veritable paradise on Earth- I should point to India. If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choices gifts- I should point to India.”
